in order to slove this problem I applied this patch to the following file :
/usr/share/alsa/cards/ICE1712.conf
In the PCM.FRONT section I added two config lines :
slave.format S32_LE
slave.channels 10
So, my pcm.front section looks like :
CE1712.pcm.front.0 {

I also set the cd audio device with the parameter do nothing
(probably the english translation) and I always have the same result

I have tried to install the debugsym packages but I have no log . I guess my
desktop freezes before log anything in the .xsession-errors

You could see, if you understand french language , that the main problem is the
brasero library. After remove libbrasero-média-0 the dvd reader works fine !!!
I guess you can confirm that bug in the package

I also created a user. Now it works.

You could see on apt-cache supercollider 's dependencies
sudo apt-cache depends supercollider | grep jack
Dépend: libjack0.80.0-0
on the AMD64 distribution supercollider depends on the release 0.80.0 of
today I had ome more update with the update-manager. some pythons packages were
updated. Now exaile still doesn t read any cd :-(. Don t consider the last
comment.
You could see after all the python packages installed in my system :
/var/cache/apt/archives/python_2.5.1-0ubuntu3_all.deb

with the last updates of python (the suggested or backports I dont know) Exaile
works now fine.
Now I think that this issue should be closed :-)

The above test was performed on a dvd burner which is installed as slave
in my computer. I also installed a dvd burner which is installed as
master on the smae bus (I dont know if thes informations are usefull in
my case ) . In the last one ( the burner ) exaile can read the cdrom - I
dont upload

When I try to start reading any music cd in exaile I never have any sound. I
also tried with a MP3 and exaile works fine.
The testcase :
1 - Insert a cd
2 - Open Exaile
3 - Go to File Open Disc
4 - Play any track
Finally, my cd player
