I tried it with kernel 3.3-rc5, but WOL is still not working.

Checked with kernel 3.2.0.17, but WOL is still not working.

Wake On LAN doesn't work after using Ubuntu 12.04 Daily Build 64-bit.
Reproduce the problem:
First case:
1. Start the computer using an older Ubuntu destop disk (I used Ubuntu 10.04
Desktop 64-bit)
2. Choose Try Ubuntu, any language setting can be used
3. Shut down

UPDATE: The problem exists in r8169 module. After removing it then
downloading from Realtek homepage and installing r8168 driver (version
r8168-8.027.00) the problem disappears.
NOTE: r8168-8.027.00 is not correct, it can be installed after you patched it.

I had same crash. I have fresh installed Ubuntu 8.10.
I resolved permanently the problem: renamed the xorg.conf and start with sudo
the nvidia-settings and I can save the new xorg.conf.

I have same problem cannot change to fix IP address. Network config is reseted
when X restarted.
I resolved permanently the problem: started the network settings with sudo
nm-connection-editor and can save the configuration and it's stay after
restart too.
I use fresh installed Ubuntu 8.10.
