I have the same problem. After upgrading from Dapper to Hardy, I can't
use any admin tools even after checking /etc/hosts and adding my
username to the admin and polkituser groups in /etc/group and
/etc/gshadow. I always get Could not authenticate. An unexpected error
has occurred. when using
