I'm glad to hear that you managed to resolve the issue. It seems the
problem may come from a conflict of having both flash and gnash
installed, or as you say gnash was unable to handle the file. Since we
now know that the problem lies with on of those two and not as much the
Firefox software

I have been able to reproduce the bug by attempting to open a man page
for Firefox 3, only to receive the same errors. I am also able to open
up the man page for Firefox 2. Therefore, I have confirmed the bug.
