I tried to understand the changes done to the udev-167-2 in F15 to fix the
problem.

Twice during last month I observed an process (first time it was apache
and then cron) in a container to get stuck in unkillable (D) state.

On an busy lxc server 2.6.38-8-server amd64, I had elevator=cfq in the
cmdline, no dpkg was running, yet it got stuck with the same symptoms

your desktop) and then enable them - it detects the IP number properly, but VNC
connection does not work (I see black screen) and

disks already have foreign RAID signature that either dmraid on Intel driver

If a virtual machine had CDROM connected (either from a real CDROM disk
or from an ISO image) and then shutdown, subsequent boot will show an
cryptic error message about unability to open /dev/sr0 device (if the
CDROM disk was taken out).
For me (maverick 10.10 amd64) the solution was to remove icedtea6-plugin,
download sun-java6-bin, sun-java6-jre and sun-java6-plugin packages from hardy
(8.04) (!) and install them:

I have exactly the same situation as jhaig and thunderbird segfaults.
My home directory is also NFS mounted.

For test sake, I have moved my .mozilla-thunderbird to local storage (not NFS),
but the problem persisted. So it might not be NFS related after all. Time to
open new bug?
In any case find attached the strace from the thunderbird.

X300SE card. The system is ubuntu 9.10 amd64 with gdm pinned to version
2.20.10-0ubuntu2.
Builtin video player totem is barely acceptable for use, as it does not
redraw
As I wrote on 2009-10-04, the bug does not happen on karmic. Gimp works
perfectly, without crashes.
Consider to close the bug and reopen it should the problem reappear.

That was the problem. Once I renamed the file to have .cfg extension it
was automatically picked up.
Can you make hobbit-client to print warning into log files on start in
case it finds filenames in directory etc/hobbit/clientlaunch.d that do
not have .cfg extension? This might have save time for
