I've found a workaround***:
$ sudo mkdir -p /usr/lib/libgnomeui-0/gnome_segv2
After that, `apt-get' seems to be working and an upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy
complited successfully.
$ sudo apt-get remove debreaper
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
***
