No, the X server restarts, (like alt + shift + backspace).
I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.04 (same home partition though) and still
have this issue.

Tried removing my whole .mozilla dir in ~ thus virginizing Mozilla and
removing all my configs/plugins etc.
No changes, still restarts my system. Sometimes it just freezes up totally,
mousemovement works but windows doesn't respond nor keyboard..

Clicking on the link http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Seinfeld forces Ubuntu to
restart flawlessly.
Middled click first time on the link and got it opend in a new tab (not
focused) and now every time I try and touch that tab Ubuntu restarts.
