Public bug reported: I installed Ubuntu 21.04 this morning, and I can't left-click anything with my trackpad. I can move it, and right-click things with it, but the left-click button does nothing.
I can confirm this is not a X or Wayland bug because it occurs when I use both. I can confirm it isn't a kernel thing because I have no issues in Fedora 34, which uses the same kernel. And it's no GNOME issue either, because it happens in MATE. I haven't tried KDE yet, but I don't think that will change anything. This leaves me in a complicated situation where I have no idea what package the problem it in, and the same X, Wayland, GNOME and kernel versions have no problems in Fedora, and I've tried GNOME with both X and Wayland in Ubuntu groovy and there are no issues there. Anyway, for now I am putting up with GNOME's Dwell Click feature. This is a fresh install, the only things I've changed are the following: - Remove snap (apt purge snapd) - Install GNOME Software and Flatpak (apt install --no-reccomends gnome-software-plugin-flatpak) - Install MATE desktop environment to see if the problem lies in GNOME (apt install mate) ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1925724 Title: Trackpad can't click in Hirsute To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1925724/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
