Do you have the same problem with older release of Ubuntu (8.04?) ?
Why you add SKIP_CHECKS for have the rights ? I have right to change
OFF, to normal or High without this line ...

Résult : xserver-xorg-video-intel install
Command : apt-cache policy compiz
Résult : compiz:
