I got around this with a GTX1080 by choosing advanced options for Ubuntu
at GRUB and using the 4.10.0-37-generic kernel. 13.0.0-16-generic causes
the "stopping user manager for uid" loop.

in english it can be something like Can't mark kubuntu-desktop to

I fixed the problem by re-enabling the restricted nvidia drivers which
had been somehow disabled during the upgrade process. Everything normal
now.

Dell Inspiron 1520 worked fine at first when upgraded to Jaunty beta,
but at some point stopped resuming from suspend or hibernate. When lid
is opened after suspend the hard drive starts up but the screen remains
black, and no unlock dialog is displayed.
