I also had this bug in Xubuntu 12.10 and I don't have SSD. Now I'm using
Xubuntu 12.04 and have no problem.

Sudden Read-Only Filesystems
Because of this problem, I installed Ubuntu 11.10. Now, I've tried to
download the file again and looked into the ISO and all corrupted files
(which I remember) are OK. So it seems like it's only problem of Windows
7, where I previously burned CD (using Nero), used UNetbootin and also
used Pen
Now I've created bootable USB with Ubuntu 12.04 Alternate using Startup
Disk Creator. All previous errors are gone. But there's one more left.
Test of the CD integrity goes to the 99%, but then this screen (in
attachment) appear.

I have same problem with ubuntu-12.04-alternate-i386.iso image.
