Totem fails to load completely when using the proprietary nvidia driver
and with xinerama enabled. When I run totem from terminal, the gtk
window loads for about a 1/4 second and then closes, and I get is the
following message in the terminal:

OK I found two helpful files in my /var/crash, I'm not sure if the
clear_console crash is related to the totem crash, but apport *did*
notify me that clear_console crashed the very first time totem crashed,
so I will attach it anyway.

Presario 1600, after rebooting I get an error that the xserver failed to

I should also mention that this was on Ubuntu 6.06.
How do I install the old xserver so I can use my laptop until this

I found that thread on ubuntuforums, so I installed xerver-xorg-core and
-dev ubuntu10.4 and everything works!
No, this is a six year old laptop...not XGL or AIGLX enabled.
