an update to mesa from xorg on the edge repo caused netbook-laucher to just
flicker grey/white and die
when using the netbook session it just continues to do this and never stops or
switchs to say 2d mode

Spread Spectrum I'm rather certain that it is disabled for me
so all I have is the amd powernow and c1e support enabled
but like I said I disabled the powernow in software to force
cpus to max speed and stay and then ran adjtimex
the first 3 samples (running it manually at the time)

I tried your 64bit package and it does put numbers in the /etc/default/adjtimex
file
and I didn't see any of the awk errors
on a side note I've found i have to disable cpu frequency scaling first to get
a proper
sampling of my clock skew
without that what it gets can vary alot on each
I'm seeing it here still

fstab isnt anythign special just the line i pasted before and /proc and such
the important pxe bits look like the below
APPEND initrd=ubu-init root=/dev/nfs

if /home is all thats stopping you I think there was another bug
I've gotten nfsroot working for me with a 9.10 install
it was an update of an existing install also for what it matters
the item I think is what was required for me to get it to working was
to add the following line to fstab in the nfsroot
/dev/nfs/ nfs nolock,proto=tcp
finally upgraded to karmic and its still happening
ill do proper backtrace when that link isnt broken

seems the libflashplayer.so I had wasn't happy doing whats in the below url

well on youtube its doing what it did before for me and thats show the static
first image
then as soon as it seems to have the video downloaded enough to play it goes
grey
and I think video alone seems to break for me as I recall a few other flash
things working
that never touched video
I'm seeing this grey box issue on my amd64 box also
it is single cpu system
I'm trying the patch out now to see if it helps had some issues getting it to
apply tho

the command that had solved my issue was the below bit from the inital report
/sbin/udevsettle --timeout 10 as the last line of
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-premount/udev and rebuild initrd
'update-initramfs -u -k all'
I'm not sure if it is still required or not the computer I put
over the weekend there was a few updates to openoffice.org and I was
able to install 2.3.0-1ubuntu4 on my mini

and for further information, filesystems on all my systems are xfs
and I have crashed the system a few times but I don't recall
items breaking around those times
liferea I notice here once in a while keeps dieing on my amd64 box
and its database is corrupt where I have to
I got both the ppc and the amd64 back up and running with the help of debsums
running 'debsums -s' will list all packages that ether have no md5sums to check
or have a corrupt file
once you find they have a corrupt file its just a matter of reinstalling that
package

on my ppc g4 mini galeon dies from selecting print from the file menu
the trace is below the computer is up to date as of this report
galeon is running under fluxbox at this time so no window effects are on

I'm seeing this issue on an amd64 boxen
only problem is its with galeon, liferea, firefox and konsole (and kcontrol)
turning off or on desktop effects made no difference
was seeing this under fluxbox same under gnome
firefox-granparadiso luckly works without issues
I can attach traces if wanted
this command did work for me fixing a fresh gutsy dist-upgrade
setup for me is raid0 with lvm on top of that

Something else to look into is the filesystem you use on the server
you might need to add noatime to the mount options and at least for
xfs you can also do nodiratime
if it doesn't have those in fstab that could cause alot of extra writing
to the hard drive as it updates access times

I've hit this bug also I had thought it was just a general computer doesn't
want to shutdown issue
till I had a nfs mount on my laptop and it did the same
no vpn is being used here and moving the files from S to K did make it
shutdown right again

I hit this bug also on amd64 edgy
a work around I found here:

if link is bad its just using ld_preload to get the right library loaded
to fix the missing symbol issue
for example:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libXt.so.6.0.0 firefox
and
the patches mentioned in bug 42758 might solve this issue
