I'm also facing the same issue. Huawei E220 worked in 11.04 after
upgrade not working at all. Tried with Huawei E153 was able to connect
Internet. So its E220 incompatibility issue. Appreciate if E220 can be
fixed since I dont onw the E153. Ubuntu 11.10 is not usable until this
is fixed and this
Tried girts (girtsz-gmail) 's fix in 40-usb_modeswitch.rules . Not
working ... Issue still exists.

can someone pls attend to this. Coz, I'm not able to use ubuntu until
this issue is fixed. Since i normally plug in iphone to the laptop when
i come home from work to charge the iphone. I'm not able to do that due
to this issue. So it force me to booth on windows 7.

As described in the bug description, this issue happens when I plug in iphone
3GS to the USB port. I gets stuck in an infinite loop attempting to opening
window that say starting file manager. The window don't ever open, but the
longer the loop goes, the more that fill up the task bar.
This defect is reproducible in the latest version of ubuntu 10.10

I'm facing the same issue. I have installed ubuntu 9.10 on my external
HDD (Western Digital 2.5 120Gb - Transcend SATA enclosure). It's not
possible to unplug the enclosure since I have my ubuntu installation on
the external HDD. I need to try booting 3,4 times to get ubuntu started.
It get stuck
I downloaded the .iso on Saturday (8th Nov 2008). I guess that's the latest
version. I tried several times and still it crashes after reaching 99%
