I just upgraded 16.10 -> 17.04 and this defect still is present. The bad
/usr/lib/NetworkManager/conf.d/10-globally-managed-devices.conf was
recreated and I had to delete it to get my wired LAN back.

The system was working correctly at 3.5.0-17. After upgrade to 3.5.0-18
the system lost screen display on boot. Booting with nomodeset had no
effect.
I could log in remotely and see lightdm was NOT running, and from
Xorg.0.log that X failed to start.

I just added myself as having this issue but the more I look at it the
more I believe this is a filesystem issue. Both my /var/lib/dpkg and
/var/cache/debconf directories look unhealthy (files appear to be
truncated, corrupted, etc.)

looked like 800x600. Should have been 1280x1024.

Sync for my Samsung i500 (a USB Palm device) broke sometime in the past
couple weeks. (I'm using kpilot.)
I found the workaround is to do: modprobe visor
Once that module is loaded, the /dev/ttyUSB[01] devices would get
created, and then I could sync.
You may want to see if modprobe visor

This konsole (mis)behavior appears to be intentional, so it's probably
(unfortunately) not a valid bug.
The workaround is to do:
Settings - Configure Konsole - General - Show terminal size after
resizing.
This will bring up a box that shows Size: cols x rows.

The problem is that /usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd was installed mode 600.
This was a full install of Feisty Herd 5.
When I changed the permissions to 755 the problem was fixed.

I too had this problem (hibernation broke on update to Edgy). The
procedure described above worked.
My problem may have been that my /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/resume file
just said:
RESUME=
Somehow the swap partition UUID never got registered there on the Edgy
upgrade.
