Trusty: NOTE: This is a pass for the ubuntu-advantage-tools script. The duplicate machine-id issue I had was traced back to the canonical- livepatch snap. root@test4:~# dpkg -l ubuntu-advantage-tools Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold |

[Bug 1719671] Re: [SRU] include recent version containing fips and livepatch

2017-11-07 Thread Chris Newcomer
Trusty: NOTE: I tested it on a machine without the HWE kernel necessary and the tool installed the kernel, but livepatch wasn't enabled after the reboot into the new kernel. I had to remove the machine-id in order to get live-patch working. Once I did that, it worked as expected. root@test4:~#

[Bug 1720887] Re: Default settings for virtlogd results in "too many open files" errors

2017-10-18 Thread Chris Newcomer
Christian, The customer that I was working with has changed their environment, so I cannot go back to them. I will have to deploy openstack in our test lab to verify the default settings. It will take some time for me to get this checked out. I will reply back when I get it running. Thanks. --

This is the data that led me to believe the default setting was low. I gathered this from a customer: ubuntu@x:~$ virsh list | wc -l 212 ubuntu@x:~$ sudo lsof -p $(pgrep virtlogd) | wc -l 893 ubuntu@x:~$ sudo grep "open files" /proc/$(pgrep virtlogd)/limits Max open files
