Solved the problem installing nvidia-glx-new driver, version 1.0-9775.
The package nvidia-glx has driver version 1.0-9631. Maybe this is a bug
for the old driver.

Laptop Model: DELL Latitude D820.
Display Hardware (from lspci):
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce Go 7400 (rev a1)
same nvidia-xgl version as above.
