I did that and it did seem to fix the problem.
I re-enabled Ubuntu Dock and it still is fixed though, so I'm not sure
what that means.

Well I played with this some more in Hirsute and I wonder if I may have
jumped the gun.
If I give it a minute to idle the power usage drops down to about 11-12
watts, which is about 2W more than using bbswitch or disabling the card
in BIOS.

0.8.10 of nvidia-prime. Can provide logs/hardware info if it's helpful,
just let me know what you need. Nouveau or manually disabling the DGPU
in the BIOS behaves as expected.

machine and captured the files /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0
I have had problems since upgrading to 9.10. My display would freeze.
This may be an associated problem or not.

Unfortunately not. The "site" where I observed the issue was a
computerized school course distributed via CD, which I can't really
transfer. It did appear to be manufactured using the Windows help tools,
so possibly any Windows help file containing videos viewed in Firefox
should work.
