in the app and the compositor via OpenGL. And if OpenGL or the driver

Come to think of it, you will get a slight freeze every 5 seconds from a
journaling file system if something is writing to a log file constantly.
The command in comment #2 should show that.

Thanks for the bug report. The only similar issue I'm aware of is that
sometimes the cursor can become laggy but that is also fixed by putting
the screen to sleep (Super+L) and waking it up again. That issue is so
rare that I haven't seen it in months.
