[Bug 1326161] [NEW] Toshiba Satellite Brightness Hotkey Doesn't Work

2014-06-03 Thread Daniel Centore
Public bug reported: I followed the steps at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Hotkeys/Troubleshooting and found that the brightness keys are only detected with acpi_listen, which apparently means this is a bug in the kernel (ubuntu-bug linux) for not translating the ACPI event to an input event

[Bug 860600] Re: Media keys aren't working (Ubuntu 11.10, Pithos latest daily)

2011-11-17 Thread Daniel Centore
Workaround: Run totem and minimize it. You're media keys will then work. However, hopefully this will be fixed soon. I consider the priority much higher than low. The media keys are the main reason behind performance to use this client as opposed to the official one. -- You received this bug

That's simply not possible because the computer locks up and you are forced to kill the computer. However, after installing updates from update manager manually (which should be automatic...) on Thursday, I have not experienced the issue. I'll keep you updated on whether or not it happens again.
