The date changes only once every 24 hours. Printing it every few seconds
during a chat conversation is naive. We can do better than this by (1)
printing the date only when the date changes between successive messages
and (2) showing the date in history bubbles. This would solve the

That's not what I said. Users are of course free to use the terminal if they
wish, I don't mean to prevent them from doing that; and as far as options

Why is this not a paper cut? Do we have evidence that this is difficult
to fix? Obviously the reporter is experiencing the bug described so the
bug is real.

This seems like a reasonable paper cut. Using Nautilus for FTP or SFTP
is a fairly common workflow for transferring files. Sure, most users are
not affected, but I know quite a few average users who use FTP for
basic tasks like updating personal/small business web sites, and making
it so that they
