This was so long ago. All I was saying is we should use a .svg for
Thunderbird's icon instead of .png. Maybe it used to be included, but I
don't see a thunderbird svg file on my computer anymore so it's not
simply a matter of pointing to the right place as I had suggested.

The apport-collect crashed on me but upon testing this since Jaunty's
release, it works here!
I do have the 3stack option in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf still,
though I'm not sure if it does anything.

Adding options snd-hda-intel model=dell-3stack to the bottom of my
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base did not fix it in my case.

Sound works fine from the speakers, but when headphones are plugged in,
sound gradually diminishes until it is silent. Unplugging the headphones
leaves it silent on the speakers. Reboot resets the position and sound

In Kompozer in windows, it opens .php files just fine. In Ubuntu, I
have to rename the file to .html, edit it, then rename it back to .php
before I upload it to my webserver.

By any chance are all of you using KDM as your login manager? I'm
thinking the shutdown only works when GDM is your login manager.
Try this to set it to GDM and see if you're affected still:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm

If you do sudo apt-get remove xvnc4viewer (which also removes ubuntu-
desktop unfortunately), then all is well again as the command xvncviewer
will use the old version that
albuntu: for the record, it's 'xtightvncviewer -listen' and that
totally does not work with UltraVNC's SC software in Gutsy.
