It is correct, we do not support offline upgrades via ubiquity/desktop
CDs. And even for servers, it is not recommended to use new server CD to
do offline upgrade.
The support upgrade methods are with internet connectivity or a local
mirror / package pool. One can for-example use tools like aptonc
right, i see what you mean now. Yeah, that should not have done anything
to "home". I hope you marked "home" volume to "don't use" while
installing raring?! because at the moment installer cannot activate dm-
crypt and thus selecting "home" volume for anything could have damaged
it.

I believe to reduce memory footprint we do "paint" the desktop
background with gnome-settings-daemon and not having nautilus provide
some functionality. I suggest to double check with #ubuntu-desktop folks
like seb128 whether this is intended behaviour for raring, or if it's a
bug to fix.

How did you check that it points to an unsigned image?
You can use:
sbattach --detach /tmp/signature /vmlinuz && ls -la /tmp/signature
To check if there is signature present in the vmlinuz.

Opened gnome-control-center -> online accounts -> click add -> select SIP ->
empty screen appeared, 50 seconds later the username & password form appeared.

Anyway I installed accounts-plugin-sip and expected to be able to setup
sip.
