Changing Screen Saver locks up entire system
OK... here's that log, just after locking up with antspotlight as above.
(I only have to switch back to WinXP and log in here in IE! As FF won't
log in in either OS? A bit rediculous, but whatever.)

Hello from Pensacola FL,
Radeon 9700 Pro, and running hypertorus manually works fine. (Nice

Binary package hint: krb5-kdc
When I try to install krb5-kdc on Ubuntu Server 6.06, it tells me that I

I have similar problems. I upgraded my laptop from Dapper to Edgy and
Firefox crashed every time I visit any site with flash in it. Oddly, I
did a fresh install of Edgy in a VMware environment at work and I can
view flash sites in Firefox just fine.

Hi aexl,
Sounds like your Intel Pro/Wireless card driver is to blame, and doesn't
support turning off TSO on the fly. You'll probably need to set the
module parameters as in the Fedora forum, but I have no idea what the
parameters should be, or where they should go. Unfortunately, the Fedora

Hi aexl,
In order for the ethtool command to work, you need root privileges. Try
using sudo:
$ sudo ethtool -K eth0 tso off
That should work.
BUT: the more recent patched kernels from Ubuntu do not have that
problem anymore (at least for me). If you make sure your system is up to

Well that's exactly the kernel image that I'm running: kernel-
image-2.6.15-25-686 (with SMP). The problem is still definitely there
for me. Maybe I should add that I'm using bridged networking, not NAT?
Also, the problem could be dependent on the particular network card and
kernel module used.
I
might want to
fix this is the kernel source?
Thanks,

Just in case, here's the info on my ethernet card (although this bug seems to

Anyway, just thought I'd report it, shouldn't be too hard to fix.
I've included some extra info below.
