None of those parameters makes backlight work.
After bisecting, the regression happens on 3.10-rc1.
Before 3.10-rc1, only intel_backlight is registered under
/sys/class/backlight/
and acpi/video.c shows
@kaxing,
Win8 doesn't use ACPI to control backlight but leaves control to gfx driver
instead.
If system tells BIOS that it has win8 capability, BIOS will disable ACPI
backlight interface.
Linux kernel starts to support Win8 capability after 3.7.
That's why ACPI backlight control works on early
both parameters can't make backlight function work.

I disabled the wakeup sources in /proc/acpi/wakeup for further
experiment under 3.2.0-61
I found that this bug is disappeared by disabling XPDV wakeup source with 10
times shutdown test.
(The disabling command is echo XPDV /proc/acpi/wakeup)
The information from lspci and acpi wakeup table
If Ethernet cable is plugged, this issue can be reproduced on 3.2.0-61.
Following 3 conditions can avoid this issue.
1. Removed NIC driver (atl1c)
2. Disable NIC from BIOS
3. Unplug Ethernet cable
It should be a NIC driver bug.
Verified this bug on Ubuntu 12.04 (3.11.0-15-generic), this issue

It seems that dell-laptop.c removed rfkill code in kernel 3.11.10
After that, rfkill code added back and whitelisted Latitude models with
following 2 patches.

Tried 2 methods to make wireless key work.
1. Add this module to whitelist. - works fine.
2. Get notification from RBTN ACPI device then send KEY_RFKILL event. -
nothing gets from RBTN

Verified with this setting A06 / 12.04.2 + 3.11.0-15, this issue can be
reproduced if reboot command has been run.
I also found that if USB stick is plugged, reboot symptom will disappear.

With boot parameter acpi_osi=!Windows 2012, this issue seems to disappear.
Test environment:
A06 / 12.04.4 + v3.11.0-{14, 15, 17, 20}
A06 / 12.04.4 + v3.12.{14, 16, 18}
A06 / 12.04.4 + v3.13.{8, 9, 10, 11}
PS: This issue can be reproduced on those kernel versions without
acpi_osi boot parameter.
