I've put those to my $HOME/.config/pulse/daemon.conf, restarted
pulseaudio and ran mocp successful, though.

No. moc runs fine with alsa and therefor doesn't need a "pulse
plugin"..

It seems that this is pulseaudio's fault. Could you please try as
follows:
$ echo "autospawn=no" >> $HOME/.pulse/client.conf
$ pulsaudio -k
$ mocp
If moc runs well we have to redirect this bug to pulseaudio.
If you want to restart pulseaudio you have to either autospawn=yes or
remove autospawn
Applied against Debian 11.1.3-1. 3-D acceleration at depth=24 works.
Power consumption running foobillardplus is very high. Colors at the
Cairo Dock are looking pastel shaded.

1) Not possible as the binary moc is part of libqt4-dev-bin.
2) moc is given as many users all over the world appreciate that package
and it is well known. Ah, and there won't be a patched patched Debian
package, though.
3) There is no error message caused by moc package. What I can do is to

I've startet 14.04.2 live stick and can't reproduce?
$ ldd `which mocp` | grep libdb
libdb-5.3.so => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdb-5.3.so (0x7f6fa5ddc000)
The package is always build against libdb-dev which makes sure the
binary loads the realted lib.
BTW there is 2.5.0 available.
