I've had the same problem. 80 GB disk (NTFS partition #1) resized to 50
GB, made one ext3 partition and one swap. NTFS partition became black
and couldn't mount. But... only Ubuntu worked :) - GRUB booted ubuntu
from second partition. Windows were dead.

I have this problem too; it says "no root filesystem" if I've made
partition (ext2/ext3) before the installation using another app (GParted
or QParted for example). The selected root partition needs to be
reformated or deleted and then made again.

Hello!
I have Fujitsu Siemens Computers Amilo L6825 notebook and every function key
works, including light up/down, sound keys, sleep keys and other. Only synaptic
touchpad doesn't work, but it doesn't matter. The point is that it works, you
just need to enable some options in X configuration.
At me everything works. I have only one disk, hda, and Winblows are on hda1.
Ubuntu which I installed is on hda2, and I installed GRUB to MBR, eveyrthing
worked fine. The problem appears when you have two disk, and if you don't have

suggest you use ext2 filesystem on your disks. GRUB must be configured
