Like Mike, I don't think the problem is flash-related. I have been
experiencing this problem also with pages with plain vanilla HTML. The
page of death2 didn't crash my firefox.
Since I have it on different machines with different graphics drivers, I
don't think it is related to graphics drivers
My 2400W is working in my Ubuntu 08.04 installation.

I have the same bug. In a whole, 10 packages are not available, all
security updates.
