The adding of acpi_backlight=vendor into grub boot option FIXED the
problem in my Dell Inspiron 15R. I'm using the 3.11.0-9-generic 64 bits
kernel.
Without the proposed fix, the only way I have found to turn brightness
to MAX was setting the config below as ROOT:

If I do a pairing with my PC and phone, at the first time I can
successfully send files from my phone to the PC (and vice-versa). I can
also browse the phone and use it as a bluetooth modem. After restarting

About the "BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 61s!", I've realized that
it occurs every time I unplug the VGA port (e.g. some projector) and

I think the freeze of pulseaudio stream could be due to trickle! I've been
launching miro with trickle (bandwidth shaper) because miro bandwidth
limitation don't work well:

but when I launched miro without trickl

padsp miro
, which suspends pulseaudio and forces miro to use alsa instead. Now the

I think it is a "conflict situation", because I just run
`gconftool-2 --set --type=bool /apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager false`
and `compiz --replace` worked!

@Bruce this is not a bug, you should use the option ‘--sticky (-st)’ to show
the application on all workspaces ;-)

I think it have something to do with my Google Calendar accounts in
Evolution. To "unfreeze" the gnome-panel, I just run 'evolution --force-
shutdown', but it's quite annoying. The (web) appointments fetch of
evolution-alarm-notifier should run at background, or at least within
it's own thread to n

sudo alsa force-reload
and them go to System>Preferences>Sound and change everything to ALSA

My sound stop working with the linux kernel 2.6.27-7-generic, BUT here's
a quick FIX:
sudo killall pulseaudio
sudo alsa force-reload
and them go to System>Preferences>Sound and change everything to ALSA
;-)
P.S.: PulseAudio sucks!

Same problem here: I can send files via nautilus-sendto (obex push) but
