I think you mean compiz 0.3.6 as compiz 0.3.4 still has the --indrect- rendering option. For compiz 0.3.6 this option has been defaulted to you don't need to pass it when you launch compiz. If you still have problems with compiz and glx_ext_tfp try to launch compiz that way:

Well no it is not indirect in radeon it is indirect in all cards ( except maybe nvidia ones that don't use aiglx but there own implementation I tried and on my computer compiz --help prints --indirect-rendering for both 0.3.4 and 0.3.6. did you try just passing those args and see what it did ?
