Public bug reported:

Hi,

I'm using the PT-pt version of Ubuntu and since the beginning I noticed
that Ubuntu's Calendar starts with the wrong day. Instead of starting
with Sunday it starts with Monday. That is more a cultural issue than
other thing, but it's also a mistake. I know I can change it, but I'd
like to see it as default (or at least you could let us change the first
day of the week, it would be also easier for you).

Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
