when OOo has been started one time, linux caches it anyway and it will open
fast again - without the quickstarter

i just spent about 1 hour trying to fix my machine because of this SH**

i reinstalled windows and formated the partition - which was listed in
/etc/fstab with the UUID and because of the reformat the UUID changed
the boot process hang - no indication why
i even recovered the whole ubuntu
workaround for apt/apt-get: put this line into /etc/apt/apt.conf

in my opinion smplayer with mplayer backend is the best media player
available under Linux today. getting the latest smplayer version is no
problem - but with mplayer it is. All PPAs i know of are outdated.
