I just tried the i386 Live-CD to check if this is an issue of the 64bit
version. In the Live environment, the card was instantly recognised, I was
asked for the PIN and could connect. I didn't even have to modprobe nozomi. As
there was no freeze after starting Firefox and surfing a bit, I

I am the original poster of # 425312. As I needed the connection, I switched
back to jaunty for the time being. Today I just installed the lucid-daily and
the card now is recognized and I can connect to my network. So for me, the
problem is solved in Lucid.
This is for a Option Fusion+ with
I have (I think) the same problem on a Jaunty 64bit. I was wondering why
I did not get any new Emails the last few days from any POP3 accounts
(Hotmail, web.de, gmail). Now Pidgin today notified me of a new mail in
Hotmail, I went to Evolution to fetch it, it said it was getting the
mail, but
As this is still not working in the beta, is there any other info you
need?
I tried running wvdial and getting a connection with that, but also to
no luck. Output is:

I have a similar issue, but for me the displayed number of messages that
is displayed adds up over the day. If I received 3 mails after first
login, move them to folders and receive 3 more mails later, it will
still display 6 received messages.

Okay, I'm sorry, I should have checked that before. The card is actually
recognized if it is already inserted on boot. It just does not show up if it is
inserted after logging in.
Getting a connection with the card after it shows up is also not possible,
daemon.log for this is attached. Should

I just read through all the comments (I hope), and did not find this
mentioned, so I thought it might be helpful..
I had the problem for a long time, but didn't bother too much. Now it got
annoying and after some searching I installed mainline 2.6.30 to see if it
would work.
As has been
I highly doubt that it had something to do with permissions, as there
were really all kinds of files (audio, video, documents..) from
different sources (downloads, self-made..).
I didn't mean this to be a cause of the bug, but rather a result and
maybe an indicator to where things might be going
The irda-utils package does not install at the moment at all
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/irda-utils/+bug/340718).
There is a patch in the comments that seems to fix this (even if it
doesn't, I don't know about these things), or at least gets the package
installed again and working.
Arian: Use the patch before that (postinst.patch (1.2 KiB, text/plain))
in comment 18.

well, as I said, I just applied the patch manually (adding the +++-lines and
removing the --- lines from the irda-utils.postinst)

I am wondering though: The patch Daniele provided in Comment 18 solved
the problem in irda-utils for me, so far everything works flawlessly.
It's been more then 5 weeks since then, why is this fix not released?

The file you need to apply the patch to is
/var/lib/dpkg/info/irda-utils.postinst
Or at least with patching this one the installation worked for

I don't know if it helps, but I just tried the card in a Jaunty Alpha 5
Live CD session I still had lying around and it is recognized by NM
there.

byte, eg. /usr/share/gconf/schemas/gnome-terminal.schemas
