This tool was essential for my work, so when it stopped working, and I
couldn't find anything similar, I created my own version.
It's still alpha and somewhat buggy, but it gets the job done and I use
it every day. Feel free to try it out, and (if you're good with Python
and GTK) please help me

went throu without any relevant information (on failiures). nevertheless
the programm does not start and the bug report opens.

I found the following solution
In fstab, this line couldn't unmount producing the umount: mount disagrees
with the fstab error:
sshfs#fredde@host:/dir/ /media/sshfs/mountpoint fuse user,noauto,idmap=user 0 0
Adding the option fsname=sshfs#user@host:/dir/ did the trick:
sshfs#fredde@host:/dir
There was a workaround for this bug in Ubuntu prior to 13.04, since
systray icons could be whitelisted in dconf-editor. However, in Ubuntu
13.04 (raring ringtail), the ability to whitelist systray icons is
removed (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2013/02/raring-retires-system-tray-
whitelist ).

For me, it's definitely compiz/unity that causes this. I Installed xfce-
desktop and run it fo a few days, no freezes whatsoever. Then I enabled
window decoration, moving windows and the other usual compiz-effect, and
the problems reappered after some hours of use.

Tried the 3D desktop again after using Ubintu 2D for a couple weeks,
when this bug got theFix released-status. It hasn't crashed yet, but
something has changed, because now the graphics response is really slow,
windows lag while moving them, and even typing is slow. The computer is
not
Like to add that kernel 3.3 does not seem to be compatible with
virtualbox (which I need for my work) so the kernel upgrade fix is out
of the question.

ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently

I would like to add that it this hasn't happened once since I switched
to Unity 2D last week (see #18).
I agree with those who find it remarkable that the Ubuntu developers
with their usually prompt bugfixes can leave a bug like this unassigned
for this long. It must affect thousands of people
Same problem here, freezes about once every work day, which is rather
alarming. Mouse moves and music keeps playing. I can Ctrl+Alt+F1 into
the console, but if i try to go back without restarting anything, it
will lock down completely, with a hard reset left as the only option.

For me, everything (including visual effects and awn) seems to work, but it
still gives this error.
'dpkg --configure -a' gives:

This works very erratically for me.
Sometimes it prompts for the password when i plug in the usb-drive, after which
I still have to mount /dev/mapper/luks_crypto_#drive-id# manually.
Sometimes it does nothing when i plug in the drive, and I have to mount
/dev/sdc1 with cryptsetup luksOpen,
