For me, this is no more an issue. The system where the bug was happening
has been reinstalled a long time ago, and it was the only system with
this issue.

I'm still having this problem about a year later, on ubuntu server (no
desktop), with phpmyadmin 4.6.6-5 and php 7.2.15-0ubuntu0.18.04.2.
