Full speed and it works now without problem.
Comment from Asus: EHCI hand-off support is missing.
What's EHCI? Is it finally a bug or not?
Thanks for your precious help.

Hi Vijay
I thought youa re one of my collegues from Chennai
Anyway, nice to hear from you and to get confirmation that my old problem
was not only in my dreams!
I totally agree with you and found that the problem is live upgrading from
brezzy to Dapper (previous version was working properly) and
Chris
There is absolutely no problem such with Windows (there are enough other big
problems with MS!)
I changed hd and reinstalled Dapper from scratch, ugraded to 6.10,
installed 6.10 from scratch, upgraded BIOS... still a problem.
The problem occured changing motherboard from Asus A8N-E to
.
It's finally a problem about USB at booting.
Hope that can help a bit.
Regards
Marc

this problem still exists with 6.10.
Everything was perfect till Dapper when the problem happened, with the same
system, motherdoard, CPU...
Since Dapper, I have this problem. But it seams I was not alone with such
problem or similar booting problems.
Kind regards

Hi Steven
This bug specific to dapper (brezzy was running perfectly on same system)
affects as well a fresh install of dapper as an upgrade from brezzy via
Synaptic.
A lot of problem reports has been posted on several forums, french, English...
without any solution but (for my CPU) removing
Chris
it's not only a problem of installation, it's also the same problem at system
startup: system (32 or 64 bits, both tested) is hanging at mounting root file
system. Removing USB2 support in bios makes it work properly.
My system is up to date with new kernel 2.6.15-25-386.
How can I send
That's exactly the same symptoms on my system. (bug# 43950)
I solved the problem removing USB2 support in bios.
But the bug still exists!
I expected a solution today updating the kernel to 2.6.15-25-386.
But the bug still alive!
