I could access the 'Monitor Preferences' application to perhaps try
different display settings.
The above line (in paragraph 6 of Bug Description, after
connecting the external monitor / broken display) should read
I could not access the 'Monitor Preferences'
Public bug reported:
Installed Oneiric Ocelot on an Alpha 32 bit laptop with 16gB memory,
Omega 3D Video controller, 4gB Video memory and
Omicron screen display with a 640 X 480 native display resolution.
Display during installation and post- installation operations went OK.
