I think it's the same problem, the Ralink RT2860 in my Asus Eee 901
won't connect after a longer suspend, I need to disable and re-enable
the wifi interface.

Tried 2.30, 2.31 and 2.33 versions of ttf-dejavu-core/extra and all
exhibit the same kerning problems, so I'd say it's a libfreetype6
problem.

It still persists in Natty with libfreetype 2.4.4-1ubuntu2. At certain
sizes in full hinting, for instance, the glyphs in sequence Cu are
touching, which wasn't the case with Lucid and libfreetype 2.3.11.

Could this perhaps be a problem with the font itself? Lucid has 2.30
version of ttf-dejavu-core and the kerning is OK, Natty has 2.31 and it
is broken as described.

I am seeing the error general error mounting filesystems at boot, but
a second or two later it mounts everything anyway and all is well. It's
an SSD (Eee 901), I have an ext4 root (4GB) and ext3 home (8GB)
partition, no swap.

go do it from the console several times now. Date changed and size would
be nice to have, but knowing if the file being replaced is older is
