In my case the volume level always started at its original level after

My system is in spanish language, I have installed the package simple-
ccsm, then I see that ccsm is CompizConfig Settings Manager, ok.
I run ccsm in console and go to Utilidades (utilities in english),
workarounds in spanish is Rebusques (Soluciones), and check the option

Later restart session, the panel-down is removed in slide show mode, but
the panel-up not.
If I create a blank slide with a text up and other text down (near
border), now only see the up-text, but the down-text is hidden (because
the up-gnome-panel quit a line to slide show.

OpenOffice.org have created a new user directory (~/.openoffice.org) and
now the sounds are inserted correctly.
