Thanks to Dennis! Now my alienware can reach internet through wifi!!! My setup is: Alienware 15 with Qualcomm Atheros wireless card QCA6174 802.11ac (rev 32) Ubuntu 15.10
I first try "apt upgrade", as instructed by Bug 1383184 -- https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1383184 Apparently, it does not work at all. After 6 hours struggle, I find this post and followed Dennis in #22.
