There is just one way to connect them. You have to use the original
dongle and you must be sure, that it is recognized as USB hub and not as
dongle.
To do this you have two possibilities:
a) After booting unplug the dongle and plug in in another USB port. Then
connect with the red buttons.
b)

I've got this bug on a Pentium 4, 32-bit Gutsy. dpkg --print-architecture
output is: i386.
Gdebi-KDE takes all my memory and eats up all the swap. The system becomes very
sluggish due to continuous access to the hard drive.
Gdebi tool from the Konsole works by the way.

I have the same problem on my Dell Inspiron 5100, with ATI Radeon Mobility M7.
The problem started after upgrading to Gutsy. I noticed that everyday around 10
mins after I turn on my laptop, the keyboard becomes unresponsive, the mouse
cursor still moves, but the clicks do not register.
I traced my problem to having bad sectors on an NTFS partition made slocate
cause the total system freeze.
My problem went away after booting to XP and running chkdsk to fix the NTFS
errors.
Another way to fix this is to add the NTFS mount path to the PRUNEPATH variable
in /etc/updatedb.conf.
