When I installed Kubuntu 10.10 two weeks ago I did not encounter this
problem anymore, so I can't reproduce it anymore.

I'm running Kubuntu Maverick now. Jockey-kde does not offer me to enable
fglrx, so I can't try.
Maybe someone else can test it?
Just a general test if jockey and kpackagekit handle the lock when
working next to each other should be OK, no need to test specifically
for ATI and Konqueror.

It was indeed fixed in X.org git, but apparently the problem still
remains as xev still returns NoSymbol instead of a X Keysym when
pressing the mode button, the settings button or the fifth app launch
key.

xev correctly recognizes the buttons as XF86MonBrightnessDown and
XF86MonBrightnessUp.
In System Settings - Keyboard Mouse the display brightness keys are
correctly recognized as brightness up and down when clicking Custom
key for a random action and pressing those buttons.

Using jockey 0.5.5-0ubuntu4 on Kubuntu 10.04.
When enabling fglrx after jockey proposed that, the X-server cannot be
started anymore.

The problem is that installing fglrx means removing the xserver as the
fglrx driver doesn't support Lucid's xserver yet.

brightness hotkeys work, but the following hotkeys do not work:
- The zoom out / in buttons (Fn+F9; Fn+F10)
