Same issue with a HP Pavillion dv6.

Hi Omer, thanks for the answer.
So, looks like it is not related to Unity, Ubuntu also freezed after set
different resolutions (or plug a second screen after boot) even on Gnome
Shell.
What can I do next?

So, new daily build, new try, same result, no luck.
Ubuntu simple refuses to accept a second screen (the first one is the
notebook screen). I tryed with different screens (another monitor, two
diferent tv's, always trough the vga port), no luck.
If I boot Ubuntu with the second screen plugged it
Just tried the Beta 1 live image, same problem... Is there anybody with
the same problem as I'm having Why nobody seens to even care? I'm
trying not sound ungrateful but, really guys, I'm starting to think that
the next Ubuntu will just left me in the cold :-(

I'm having a similar problem with my Dell Inspiron 1545 (Intel Mobile
Graphics GM45).
It show the login screen and mirror the notebook screen and the external
monitor. If I set the mirroring off and maximum resolution to bough
screens (notebook screen: 1355x768, external monitor: 1600x900) bougth
I was trying to install Faenza icons fron an unsigned source trough the
software center. It worked fine trough Synaptic tough
