There used to be a bug about this - it's upstream, and it dealt with the
way msn handles connections, if i recall correctly. I might try to find
that later, and see what the solution was.
I dont seem to see this in kopete 0.12 versionsdid it go away, or
have I learned to ignore it?

Sounds like gdm crashing, which is completely different.
There is a recovery mode, which doesnt require you knowing what the
password is - it drops you in a root terminal. It's accessible from

Sometimes it happens that when I shut down computer (after ending all
the applications) and turn it on again, some applications (for instance
Nautilus) are opened automaticly as if in some kind of recover mode.
This would be the result of session saving, which you should be able to
turn off, if

This is because totem-xine conflicts totem-gstreamer, so it tries to
remove totem-gstreamer, totem (which depends on either two of the
above), and ubuntu-desktop (which depends on totem)

Upstream is using an admin/ directory that is too old to be patched with
