I have a japanese keyboard (pc106) and some keys still do not work after
upgrading to gnome-settings-daemon (2.23.6-0ubuntu2), although the Up -
PrtScr problem is indeed fixed (I am using evdev managed keyboard, as
recommended).
The symbols that do not work and used to work before are ']' and '}'
Same problem here with a japanese keyboard (pc106).
The symbols that do not work and used to work before the latest upgrades
(that caused also bug #255008) are ']' and '}' (which in the japanese
keyboard are in the same key), and the key for '\' and '_' (underscore,
one key again).

brazilian keyboards are special cases that used to work before whatever

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 35231 ***
Sorry, but this is not a duplicate of 35231 (although they sound
similar). That bug is for 'emacs -nw' (that is, no X window, emacs runs
inside the gnome terminal) while this one is about 'emacs' (so emacs
opens its own window).

Dead keys not
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: emacs
When running emacs21, also emacs-snapshot-gtk, dead keys do not work.
For example, entering a dead circumflex, space should result in a caret
