I use Ubuntu 9.04 alpha 5 development version on Compaq NX7010 laptop.
System sometimes freeze with no reason at login screen or when initiated in
session (that also occurs ocassionaly).
Mouse cannot be moved or any other command won't perform (like ctrl-alt-delete

after exiting one session of Firefox 3.07 on Ubuntu 9.04 alpha 5
development version. I experienced that even before 9.04 on 8.10 version
of Ubuntu.

I use Ubuntu 8.10 with kernel version: 2.6.27-11. When error occurs
there is no USB attached in the notebook and even if ti is it makes not
difference. Everything else seems to be working normally.
