Here is my log following the instructions in comment #10 regarding the
PulseAudio logs. This bug manifests itself for me when using skype on
Oneiric with my logitech usb headset as the only active audio hardware
device (I made sure the internal audio device is OFF). The mic in that
state works for

I have try the lucid alpha3 (2.6.32-14.20 kernel). The same results

Update #2:
I'm using Writer to convert a few papers to pds. Unlike Impress, Writer does
not return an error when exporting (thus this is not a replication of the
Writer error reported above) but I was unable to find the exported file. Guess
what, Writer saves it in the first directory higher up
Update:
Ok, after some experiments it appears that OO can export a file to pdf but NOT
when a # character is on the path. I have confirmed this by saving to many
different folders and locations. I guess it functions as an escape char of some
sort.
Can anyone else confirm this?

Installed Karmic Koalla a couple of days ago and tried to export an odp
presentation to pdf. It gives me a weird error saving the pdf saying
that the operation to the path where the file was to be saved stated an
invalid parameter.
Just confirmed that attempting to export an odt file from Writer gives
the same error.

I had also this problem.
The system was just hanging. I used the noapic kernel parameter to bypass this
error at boot time, but then the system continued to crash.
So, I disabled the cpufreq service and that's
I believe the problem is that:
The kernel or the responsible module does not trigger
the "insert" event
or the
"unplugged" event
ONLY when these events occur
but it just reports from "time to time" if a device is plugged in or is
unplugged.
This is destroying the major gain from the USB and pl
opposite problem for me too.
I have a usb disk with 2 partitions.
One is FAT32 and one is NTFS
They correctly get mounted when I plug the usb but
when I try to unmount one of them it is re-mounted automatically.
So there is no "safe" way to unplug the device unless I shut down.
