I am experiencing the same issue. CPU usage is very high when GAL address is not set. However, I am experiencing this throughout the Evolution session, even when it is minimized and idle (not only when choosing New Mail etc.). I am using Hardy final release and Evolution 2.22.1 -- Empty GAL
