While having Desktop Effects enabled and you go to console (Ctrl-Alt-F1,
Ctrl-Alt-F2, etc) and then you try to return back to X (Ctrl-Alt-F7) it
shows a blank screen and the cursor.

I don't run nautilus with sudo daily. I just did it for testing
reasons. No, if I run it with user privilleges I don't get that error.

When I had Dapper Drake, I plugged in my USB devices (mp3 player, memory
stick, etc) and it was auto-mounted and a window of the USB contents
opened. But now, with Edgy Eft, when I plug in my USB devices they do
not get auto-mounted, so I have to mount them manually each
