What other information should I have specified? I would have been happy
to provide more, however I'd hoped it'd take less than 8 months for
someone to ask :)
Memory was fine FWIW.
Anyway, I have not been experiencing kernel panics since upgrading to
Hardy so you can close this.

Laptop not able to mount file system upon resuming.
Get some file system error messages but these not present in dmesg after
forcing shutdown by removing battery.
Can access other terminals via Alt-F2 but not log in.
